Artists and JudgmentI've been wanting to do a journal like this for some time...but never really knew how to put it into words until now...Artists and Judgment by *CheshireCaterling
We as artists, for the most part are really no different from anyone else. We all have the same doubts, fears and insecurities as most people and actually in a lot of situations even more so, since negative feedback can be like a nemesis to those of us who thrive on the opinions of others. I often see people accusing artists of being elitist or snobbish or arrogant based on very limited (and often times biased) observations...but the fact as the matter is, if one of us does become really popular, it makes it so we no longer are able to be judged the same way as most normal people...its always so much harsher and exaggerated...
- If we're popular, it must mean we think we're better than everyone else.
- If we openly express how proud we are of how something we made came out, it must mean we're arrogant.
- If we don't take free requests, it must mean we're smug, greedy
